Hello everybody,
my second VW diesel engine just died so
I am seriously considering to replace it with a Subaru boxer;
do you have any tip on where to look for it?
Is Germany or England a cheap resource?
Tusind tak!

Andreas:
Mobile.de or autoscout24.de are the pages to look for subaru's

How did it die?

I think it will be far easier and cheaper to replace the faulty component of the diesel engine.

All components can be obtained quickly and easy.

Hej!
thanks for the reply,
the guys at the VW workshop said there is an infiltration of water in the engine,
so the top part of the engine needs to be changed,
and they prospected me 23.000 dkk of reparation.
That was the reason why i started thinking of getting a completely new engine
and a Subaru one this time.

OK, a cracked head, not so bad.

A brand new can be bought for less than 2000 kr some places.
It is one day of work to change it.

An alternative, is to buy another used engine, not so expensive either.
(Then do not throw the old away, but fix it, and keep it as a spare
that can be changed in immediately should it be necessary)

Again, one day of work to change.

NEVER NEVER NEVER go to a VW workshop to have work done.
It's economical suicide.

Some spareparts can maybe be bought from a VW denmark, at ok prices,
but never work.

If you need to have some work done on a T3,  then ask in this forum FIRST.

All too often, people use the concept: "shoot first, ask questions later".
