I am Bunadave. You may remember me from a couple "neverending CU" posts earlier this summer - the first to sell my beloved Westfalia with a bad motor for a fire sale price - and the second, where I change my mind (which jensjakob has kindly updated with fotos of the efficient curbside engine removal and my rustic workstation). The motor awaits new parts, will have new rings and other parts, and will be in fine shape very soon - my many thanks also to Hinze, a real inspiration at the right time.
Thing is, I have taken a Risk and bought a proper T3/diesel, for what could be a good price and a good opportunity to transplant my Westy stuff into a modern model, skrot out (danglish) the worst part of my current car (the body), sell the best part (rebuilt CU motor) to perhaps some lucky boblehoved, and start fresh. The "could be" has a lot to do with the fact that my new T3 doesn't actually run - kopling problem. Haven't even driven it!
Another problem is that the car is sitting on the far side of Møn. The owner says that I can change the clutch in his driveway, but I don't feel confident. So I am seeking a person who knows what's needed and doesn't mind working rustic. I have an engine hoist, probably all the necessary tools, and the new parts...
